Summary

As Introduced. Secretary of the Commonwealth; ad hoc committee to evaluate executive and legislative collegial bodies.

Requires the Secretary of the Commonwealth to convene an ad hoc committee for the purpose of studying and evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of collegial bodies within the executive and legislative branches and to develop uniform standards for the establishment and operation of such bodies. The Governor shall appoint three nonlegislative citizen members who have previously served as gubernatorial appointees on executive branch collegial bodies. The Speaker of the House of Delegates shall appoint two Delegates and one nonlegislative citizen member who has previously served as a legislative appointee on a collegial body, and the Senate Committee on Rules shall appoint two Senators and one nonlegislative citizen member who has previously served as a legislative appointee on a collegial body. The Secretary of the Commonwealth shall serve as the committee's chairman. (Less)
