Summary

As Passed Both Chambers. Prohibiting inquiry into the immigration status of defendant; notification of consequences.

Requires that at the initial court hearing for any misdemeanor or felony, the court shall advise the defendant of the following: The outcome of criminal proceedings may have federal immigration and naturalization consequences. The bill also provides that no court or party shall inquire as to the immigration status of the defendant during any proceeding unless otherwise admissible. (Less)
