Summary
As Passed House of Origin. Protective orders; Military Protective Orders.
Allows a preliminary protective order to be issued in an ex parte proceeding upon good cause shown when the petition is supported by evidence of a Military Protective Order issued by a commanding officer in the Armed Forces of the United States, the Virginia National Guard, or the National Guard ... (More) of any other state in favor of the petitioner or petitioner's family or household members, but specifies that any Military Protective Order issued between the parties shall not be admissible or considered as evidence in any hearing on the issuance of a permanent protective order or any extension or renewal thereof. The bill directs a law-enforcement officer to notify the agency that entered the Military Protective Order into the National Crime Information Center Systems that the law-enforcement officer has probable cause to believe the person violated the Military Protective Order if such person violated provisions of a state-issued protective order.
