January 31, 2025

It has been a busy week in the Virginia General Assembly! We want to help you and your students follow along and learn more about the legislative process as it happens.

📜 Top Bills of 2025

We've curated tracking for six bills covering important topics that matter to Virginians spanning schools, child labor, elections, environment, technology, and animal welfare.

For each bill, we provide a summary in plain English, the original text, and its current status.
When you click "Track This Bill," you can follow the specific steps in the bill's legislative journey. We include helper text to explain parliamentary procedure, original sources like impact statements, and comparisons between Virginia's process and the U.S. Congress. You'll also find links to upcoming hearing schedules and videos of floor debates as they become available.
