Calendar of Legislative Actions Pre-Crossover
The House of Delegates faced a busy floor schedule before crossover, with 67% of floor votes taking place in the final two days prior to crossover, compared to only 27% in the Senate of Virginia.
The daily number of General Assembly votes, on the floor and in committees, shows how the legislature's workload evolved during the first half of session. Early in the session committee votes are more common, as bills must first gain approval from one or more committees before moving on. Surviving bills face a floor vote with the entire chamber of origin voting on the legislation. The bills that pass a floor vote "crossover" to be considered in the other chamber.
Notes: Count of all committee and floor roll-call votes on House and Senate Bills. Vote counts only include actions prior to crossover on February 5th, 2025.
