Provisional Ballots 2023

Provisional ballots remain high this year, though below the record number cast in 2022, driven by same day registration laws implemented last year. Same day registration allows people to register to vote and cast a provisional ballot on election day. Election officials must then verify the person is qualified to vote before counting their provisional ballot.
